Turmeric Toothpaste

If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to the above questions, I would suggest trying this turmeric toothpaste!
I began seeking at-home toothpaste alternatives when my son started brushing his teeth. Mine? Whatever. His? PRECIOUS. Never having been accustom to store-bought toothpaste, he didn’t wonder why it was yellow or thought it was unusual that he had to shake it. He begrudgingly brushes his teeth just like the kids who use Crest. I also really enjoy not spending $12 a tube for toothpaste without fluoride. Not to mention what a relief is it to brush my teeth before and/or after coffee without the two flavors mixing badly—the mint flavor is only as strong as you make it! Last but not least, I get to mix a little potion!
Even if you don’t answer ‘yes’ to the above questions, this recipe is seriously cheap and effective. Why not give it a spin?

Enjoy,
Tara

Turmeric Toothpaste (makes about 1.5 oz.)
Ingredients
    3 heaping tbsp. coconut oil
    2 tsps. baking soda
    1 tsp. turmeric powder
    25 drops of peppermint flavor

Directions
  1. Get a tiny jar with a lid.
    • Maybe an artichoke hearts jar, around 2 – 4 ounces.
  2. Put all ingredients into the jar and whisk to combine.
  3. 3…2…1 Brush your teeth!
(Note: Depending on where you’re storing the paste, the coconut oil can become very solid or very liquid. Try keeping it at room temperature or at least in a cool, dry place. Always shake well before use so that all the components are mixed evenly!)
