Oatmeal Is Not Just For Breakfast

Hi All, Hope everyone had a good weekend! I want to talk about breakfast this week. Personally I am not a big breakfast person and I tend to eat more of the breakfast foods for brunch,  lunch, dinner or even a snack. That being said, one of my absolute favorites is porridge of any kind whether it be oatmeal, farina, cream of wheat or grits to name a few.  However, when I visited the Dominican Republic last year I had a fantastic porridge (I believe that is what the sign on the buffet said) which was made from oat flakes and called avena. I have never had such a creamy, smooth oatmeal in my life. When I came home, the search was on, I found it in the ethnic section of one of my local supermarkets. This is a wonderful, inexpensive way to feed a family. So this week, I am going to share my recipe with you! On the actual package it gives directions to make it as a cold drink or a hot dish. Switching up your Breakfast Routine

Breakfast is such an important meal for getting your first boost of energy for the day, but some people struggle with getting healthy food in. I have been trying to switch my breakfasts up more often lately and have been trying a lot of new things. I have been trying to incorporate a lot of fruit into breakfast for essential vitamins in my diet like vitamin C, D, E, and K. Another thing I have noticed since switching my diet and lifestyle is that I have been so much so productive in my day and have not been getting tired. I have not needed as much coffee and I really only drink a little because I personally like the taste. Hey guys! Today I wanted to share a super yummy breakfast food today. This morning I had time to make a really awesome breakfast. I went to the store last night they had the really pretty gala apples in the reduced produce bin. I bought two big bags of them. I thought thew gala apples would make a perfect star for my breakfast dish. I absolutely love the flavor of gala apples, they are my second favorite! (Granny Smiths are my first favrotes!) As expected they made a perfect addition to the oatmeal.  This was the perfect breakfast but would also make a perfect dessert! I hope you enjoy making this recipe as much as I did!
