Recipe!! Vegan Buffalo Sliders

Image
Hey guys! Today I am going to share with you a delicious vegan alternative to a Chicken Buffalo Sandwich. My husband absolutely loves buffalo anything, the for him the best of the best is a Chicken Buffalo Sandwich. This is one of the things he has missed the most since we have transitioned to a plant-based diet. We really try to stay away from the frozen vegan food, or as I like to cal it "Vegan Junk Food" as much as possible. I find that it makes me feel heavy and bloated.  So, I used cauliflower instead of a processed alternative. If you want to make this as a regular sized sandwich rather than sliders, you can simply slice a head of cauliflower into 1/4-1/2 inch slices, for sliders, it is a bit more complicated. You will actually need to cut up a bit more to fit into the size of the bun you are using. Now, because we are working with cauliflower if we cut it the wrong way it will all fall apart! My solution to this is to cut it into triangles or in half dependin

Recipe!! Holiday Addition: Vegan Sweet Potato and Pumpkin Casserole

Hey guys! Today's recipe from me is a vegan take on the best part of Thanksgiving; Sweet Potato Casserole! Vegans can not eat your traditional casserole because there is usually egg in the sweet potatoes and marshmallows are not vegan! Here is a delicious cruelty-free option you can bring instead. There is not much sugar in this dish because I really wanted to concentrate on all of the natural flavors of this dish. If you would like to add more sugar, why not? It is the Holidays after all! If you make this recipe or a version of it I would really love to see it! Last night I had a dream that I was sitting on a cloud eating the fluffiest waffles with warm syrup. Let's just say I was disappointed when I woke up and found myself nibbling the side of my pillow. I decided first thing in the morning that for lunch I was going to have waffles. I was already to go, my mouth was practically watering at the idea. Then I looked in my refrigerator and saw that I was completely out of eggs. I let myself feel defeated and settled to make a smoothie when I got a brilliant idea. Fruit puree! The waffles came out amazing! They were soft, fluffy, and absolutely to die for! I put together this recipe and I hope y'all enjoy!  If you use this recipe or even put your own spin on it take a picture and tag us in it on instagram @smoothievegetarians! -Dahlia What you'll need for this recipe: - 1 1/2 Cups of your Belgian waffle mix of choice - 2/3 cups of water -1/4 cup of frozen berries - 3 tablespoons of oil of c

Different Types of Vegetarians

Image
Hey guys! Today, I want to take a few moments to write a short post about the different type of Vegetarians/Vegans. A lot of people think that it is black and white. Either you eat meat or animals products are you don't. Turns out there are so many more options out there.  When you are first starting your journey of transitioning to a vegetarian it can be so overwhelming. There are so many choices! From what to eat to what branch of vegetarianism you fall under. Here is a breakdown of the different options and what each one means. Pescatarian : Does not eat any animal flesh except fish. Pescatarians will still eat eggs and dairy. When people are on this diet they do not typically go by Pescatarian, they often will just call themselves Vegetarians. People on this diet are on it for health reasons are as a stepping stone to becoming a full Vegetarian. Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian : Do not eat any animal flesh but eat eggs and dairy. This is what most people think of as a Vegetarian

Recipe!! Banana and Berry Smoothie Bowl

Image
Hey Guys! Today I wanted to share a simple recipe for a stable food in my (and most vegans and vegetarians) diet! Smoothie bowls are really just a different way to make a smoothie. The main difference is the thickness of the blended fruit. To achieve this you simply just add less liquid. You can make this in a blender, but I make mine in a food processor. This recipe does not have any added sugar in it. I make it sweet by using very ripe fruit. I feel that adding sugar gets in the ay of enjoying the taste of the fruit the way it was meant to taste.  This makes a perfect breakfast, lunch or snack! It is full of fresh, healthy ingredients that will leave you feeling energized and it will keep you full. Smoothie bowls are super flexible and you can use anything you have on hand in your kitchen! So have fun and get creative!  If you make this recipe or a version of it I would really love to see it! Tag me in your photo on Instagram @smoothievegetarians ~Stella~ Ban

Hey guys! As I am sure you guys all know it is almost time for the holidays. As a vegetarian, the Holidays can be particularly stressful. Over the next few months, we are going to work to bring you guys awesome recipes for the holidays that even the pickiest meat eaters will love! These dishes are going to be beautiful, delicious, full of nutrients and most importantly meat free! This stuffed butternut squash is a perfect replacement for your typical stuffing. If you do not have, or do not like quinoa you can replace it with brown rice. Also, this recipe is for two people but if you want to bring it to a family function you can use the entire squash, all you need to do is scoop out most of the flesh after roasting, just be sure to leave at least half an inch of flesh around the edge and you will need to reseason the part where you scooped out the flesh.  Now, let's talk about all of the awesome nutrients and vitamins this recipe is chalked full of! Recipe!! Vegan Tomato Sauce & Pasta With Sauteed Mushrooms

Image
Hello, everyone! I was sitting in my kitchen the other day and thinking if I could share just one recipe, what would it be? I chose this one because it is so easy and flexible! I make this meal in around 10 minutes and it tastes absolutely wonderful! It is flexible because you can use any vegetable in it. For example, if you do not have mushrooms but you have green beans, you can use those instead! This is your standard tomato sauce recipe, it is very light but flavorful. You can add depth to it by your seasoning choices. In this recipe, I used Italian seasonings. I could have added cumin and chili powder to have more of a Mexican flavor. In a recipe like this, it is all about the seasonings. That is what makes it so great and flexible. If you make this recipe or a version of it, we want to see it! How To Survive Going Out To Eat With Your Family As A Vegetarian

Image
Okay guys, let's talk about our families for a moment here. If you have been a vegetarian for any length of time you know that there are people who insist you are wrong for your choice not to eat meat. These are the people who stop you in the food line at functions and tell you how silly you are for not eating meat. They may call you a hippy or my personal favorite, ask you why you are eating the animals food if you care so much about them. So, these people are all up in your face about their opinions on your lifestyle. Then you have your, what I like to call, silent haters. Silent haters are the people who do not say they have an issue with your choices to your face. They may show their discontent by eye rolling when someone asks you a question about your vegetarian lifestyle. They may sigh when you say no thank you to a meat dish at a meal. In my opinion, these people are harmless, and at least put some effort to respect your choice. I say they are putting forth an effort to re
